- Invented VAO, (VETTATH ANASTAMOTIC OBTURATOR) which is a device used for performing the proximal anastamosis of the vein graft to the aorta, without using the side clamp. This avoids the escape of calcium and debris to the brain, there by preventing stroke and neurocognitive defects during beating heart surgery.
This product is in the process of being patented. This is an anastomosis enabling device, where in, the surgeon is able to perform the usual anastomosis with sutures. This is a novel, cost effective and a locally made device, which is a better alternative to the expensive Anastomotic devices available in the international market today.
